Navigation Games works with educators to tailor map navigation curricula for use in schools. Our preferred mode is to work with a team of teachers and administrators to add orienteering to PE and STEM curricula, and as a team-building activity to develop a stronger community. We like to start off in a new school district with demonstration lessons for students, and an introductory workshop for teachers.

We provide materials, instructions and staff to get you started. You supply teachers and chaperones to work with us, manage the students, and participate in the activities. We work with you ahead of time to optimize the program for your school or district.

Teacher Training
We work with PE and STEM teachers to include orienteering in your curriculum.

Ask us about our Kickstart Orienteering program: our staff will visit your school, run demonstration lessons, meet with teachers, and leave you with lesson plans and equipment to get started. Grants available.

Classes & Intensives
We provide introductions, classes and intensives that are designed to give students an immersive orienteering experience. Participants develop skills through fun and educational activities throughout the day, located on school grounds or a park.

School Teams
Schools are encouraged to organize their own teams and clubs, and to compete at local events open to the public. In the New England area, these are hosted by the New England Orienteering Club and Cambridge Sports Union, or follow the link below to find your closest club. Our staff can advise coaches on creating a series of training exercises and developing your team. We are available to provide a weekly practice in the woods and welcome any school team or club to participate.

Outdoor Education Providers
Navigation Games partners with outdoor education providers to co-promote our programming, and add orienteering to your existing programs. We can get a map made, host public orienteering events at your site, prepare activities suitable for your location and clientele, and do professional development with your staff so that they can deliver the programs.

Summer Camps
Navigation Games provides fun, outdoor, and educational summer activities to summer camps throughout the area. Activities vary by location and age group, and may include games such as Animal-Orienteering, Vampire-O, Clothespin Scavenger Hunts, map-drawing, and much more!

Team Building
We organize orienteering team-building outings for corporate groups. We begin with a crash course in orienteering skills such as map reading and compass bearing, then break up into teams for an orienteering activity in the woods designed to foster camaraderie and fun. Please contact us for more info.

Conference Workshop
Navigation Games runs workshops for educators which teach them how to introduce map navigation skills and activities to any aged group.
We are seeking orienteers from around the country to teach these workshops. We will help you every step of the way, from applying to deliver the workshop, through program design and following up afterward with the participants.
